I am so sad to hear of Philip's death. I thought he was eternal. He was such a joy to know - funny, wicked (but always with a twinkle), and generous with his knowledge-sharing when I was a green journalist in the book trade. A table with Philip on it at any trade function would be the most entertaining (and noisy).
