In memory of a great character and instinctive publisher, who taught me a lot. Philip was my boss from 1984-1990. This was the era of the Publisher's Lunch - many happy memories of 3-hour meetings with authors and customers at Frederick's and Lescargot. Philip always chose the second cheapest wine on the menu and was never short of opinions! He was kind, generous, sharp-witted and inclusive. Road trips to Frankfurt, IPG conferences and irrereverant publishing meetings filled with jokes and PK's special sayings are indelibly etched on my memory. Thank you Philip, RIP.
